In this submission, the Children’s Rights Alliance focuses on some of the key issues facing the girl-child in Ireland today, with reference to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Concluding Observations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child following the examination of the First National Report of Ireland in 1998, and commitments outlined in the National Children’s Strategy (2000) and other government policies.
