Offering a national service to Ireland’s young vision impaired population – including young people with additional disabilities – and to their families, ChildVision’s person-centred and human rights based work embraces a large range of services. These include an early years provision in both Dublin and Cork, assessment services, specialist nursing and therapeutic work, residential term-time living opportunities supporting education and independence development, assistive technology inputs, equine activities and, via our reading services component, the provision of alternative format school books and leisure reading materials to every vision impaired primary and secondary student in the country.
As a national service, ChildVision’s commitment to our young people and their families is to work creatively and energetically to advance their interests, learning and well-being and to ensure that our young people’s voices are heard, respected and taken seriously, within the wider community.
